About Us

Larry Volz, MD, FACS
Founder and CEO, Larry Volz, has been a practicing surgeon for over twenty-five years, specializing in trauma, robotics, breast and colon cancer. He spent time as a hospital Chief Medical Officer as well as a surgeon in the Air Force. After years of frustration with the current methods of securing patients’ limbs, he created a solution that would make his own surgeries safer and more efficient.
"SafeTuck was designed to ensure a faster, safer, and more cost-effective way to solve a problem that’s existed for years - particularly at a time when hospitals are under pressure to provide better care at a lower cost with less staff."
Larry’s passion extends to supporting his fellow surgeons. In 2021, he had the opportunity to deliver a TED talk which he entitled, “Who’s caring for the people who are caring for us?”
His goal was to reach physicians and leaders who were struggling despite their need to be strong for their teams. He wanted to address the problem with the hope that people would reach out for help and support.
Compassion, high-quality care, and efficiency are not just buzzwords to Larry. They are at the very core of who he is and what he has designed SafeTuck to do for patients and medical personnel alike.
